Network Engineer: ~ Proliance Surgeons, Inc. has an opening for a Network Engineer in our central office, located in downtown Seattle. The primary job of the Network Engineer is to work with the Information Technology team in keeping a regional network of remote offices operating reliably and effectively as it relates to the Proliance Surgeons Network. Proliance offers a large network environment for career development. The successful candidate will have a broad knowledge of network management and troubleshooting.
Duties
The Network Engineer is responsible for performing position-related duties that include, but are not limited to:
· Plan, coordinate, and implement network connectivity in new offices including working with external companies to help plan and deploy data and telecom capability designs.
· Maintain current network inventory and update all documentation as needed.
· Maintain Cisco routers, switches, and wireless devices to ensure network reliability and efficiency.
· Work closely with the others in the IS department to resolve network related issues.
· Research and evaluate new network related technologies and recommend products and plan of implementation where needed.
· Work directly with external vendors to ensure that the application, cost, and scope of projects work with the Proliance Network.
· Performs other duties as required or assigned.
Job Specifications
Requirements
· Extensive knowledge of Cisco routers and switches
· Intermediate network experience; CCNA Required, CCNP Preferred
· Associates degree and 2 years experience in the field
· BSCS or BSEE preferred
· Valid WA driver’s license, insurance, and a dependable vehicle
Skills/Abilities/Knowledge
· Experience supporting IP routing protocols (EIGRP and BGP preferred).
· Experience supporting LAN switching, VLAN modeling, trunks and layer 3 design.
· Experience in supporting a Cisco enterprise wireless environment, preferred.
· Ability to prioritize and work independently and as part of a team on several projects at the same time.
· High level of ownership, accountability, initiative, and self-motivation.
· Strong understanding of network security best practices.
· Must possess and demonstrate positive interpersonal skills.
· Demonstrate the ability and willingness to learn unfamiliar tasks and equipment operation within the scope of position.
· Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations.
· Knowledge of operating policies.
· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with vendors, staff and physicians.
