Position Information
This is a FULL-TIME 100% CAREER position with UC Davis Health System, School of Medicine, Academic Information Systems (AIS), located in SACRAMENTO. Work hours are 8:00am – 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. This classification is not represented by a union.

Responsibilities
Under general supervision, the incumbent will provide advanced-level service and support to Academic Information Systems (AIS) middleware application servers. The incumbent will provide primary administration for these servers, make recommendations for system modifications and/or enhancements, assist in setting standards, and developing policies and procedures. In addition, the incumbent will provide hands-on technical design, engineering and implementation of the middleware platform including Java/J2EE application servers, collaborate with teams for evolving application infrastructure architecture, provide technology/thought leadership around middleware solutions engineering, and conduct hands-on analysis/resolution of issues.
Requirements
Extensive knowledge of and experience with Unix and Unix-based server operating systems (Linux, CentOS/RedHat). Experience with IP networking and DNS. Extensive experience with technical and business system development. Strong analytical, design, and architecture experience with background in Java/J2EE application servers. Experience with development tools and environment of middleware platforms. Extensive knowledge of database environments and associate languages. Experience with SQL, PL*SQL, T-SQL, Unix, and shell scripting required. Demonstrated experience with Java Application Containers (Glassfish, JBoss, and Websphere). Demonstrated experience to research, plan, design, write, test, maintain, resolve, and teach complex technical documentation and instructions. Experience with Apache HTTP Servers, Glassfish, Tomcat, JBoss, Websphere, PHP, Perl, MySQL, FTP, SSL, JDBC, Blogs, Forums, RSS, Web Services and Content Management Systems. Demonstrated experience in preparation of project plans and estimates. Excellent Customer Service skills and experience.
