IT Network Engineer (san jose downtown)


Location: San Jose, CA

LEVEL Studios is currently seeking an IT Network Engineer who will become a key member of the growing technology team to ensure the stability and integrity of in-house voice, data, video and wireless network services. This is achieved by planning, designing, and developing local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) across the organization. In addition, the Network Engineer will participate with the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all network hardware, software, and communication links. This individual will also analyze and resolve network hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end user training where required.

Responsibilities:
• Design and deploy company LANs, WANs, SIP, and wireless networks, including routers, switches, firewalls and other hardware.
• Prepare reference network architecture and implementation design documentation using standard project lifecycle methodologies.
• Research, evaluate and implement new network technologies to compliment and expand the functionality of our computing services.
• Innovate process and technical solutions that position infrastructure technology services as a competitive advantage
• Routinely evaluate infrastructure availability, performance and resource metrics and provide sustainable technical and process solutions.
• Oversee new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgrades.
• Plan, acquire, and coordinate installation of in-house and remote network hardware and software across the agency’s multiple sites.
• Provide professional services consultation with clientele on network design, integration and deployment.
• Demonstrate and enforce adherence to standard change and quality management practices.
• Participate in on-call support rotation; provide independent judgment and discretion in analyzing and resolving complex network incidents.

Requirements:
• 7+ years of network engineering experience in LAN, WAN, WLAN, VOIP design and implementation.
• In depth technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and Internet standards, including EIGRP, BGP, TCP/IP, UDP, MPLS, QoS
• Applied technical knowledge of telephony systems, including PRI, SIP Trunks, G711, G729
• Applied technical knowledge of security design and technologies - ASA Specific, SSL/TLS, AES
• Proven experience with network capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices.
• Strong, hands-on technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems, including DNS
• Results oriented ability to manage time and projects to goals and objectives.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Business acumen in design cost versus benefit analysis.
• Cisco Certifications: CCNA/CCNP required, CCIE preferred
