Lead Software Engineer (Seattle/SODO)

With a corporate office in Seattle, and farm activities headquartered in Carnation, WA, Full Circle progressively farms 400+ acres of certified organic land in the beautiful Snoqualmie River Valley, growing more than 50 produce crops and over 200 crop varieties for its own retail customers, as well as for local restaurants and grocers.
It is an exciting time for Full Circle, while spring farm plantings take root so does the dawn of the next generation of technology driving Full Circle's Farm-to-Table service. Full Circle’s emerging technology platform combines a new web interface; the ERP, CRM and Sales Force Automation of NetSuite; with a custom built system to manage our relatively small but quite complex system of order generation, order customization, and the logistics of delivering 10,000 unique orders of perishable product in three states each week.
Position Description
Full Circle is looking for experienced, high-caliber software professional to serve as lead developer on an innovative new company-wide technology platform, leveraging Groovy/Grails, Amazon Web Services and Netsuite. We are seeking someone who is passionate about developing quality software, implementing elegant solutions to complex problems, and following best practices such as creating effective test suites for your code.
This position will report to the Vice President of Products & Services, while partnering with a Technical Program Manager, other developers, creative designers and members of the Sr. Business Team to understand and add value to requirements, features, and timeline discussions.
Demonstrated technical capabilities are a must, but we also value people skills. This position requires an ability to work collaboratively and effectively with a range of stakeholders – business and technical, at a variety of levels. Position requires an appreciation for the Team Concept and an understanding of our company mission and values.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
-BS Computer Science or equivalent technical degree
-10+ years software development experience, preferably in Java and Spring
-Solid working knowledge of Groovy/Grails, Java, REST, JSON, HTML/CSS, Javascript, Subversion, Continuous Integration
-Working knowledge of Javascript frameworks such as JQuery
-Familiarity with queuing technologies such as RabbitMQ
-Experience with data conversions and interfaces between disparate systems
-Versatility – broad knowledge-base with an active interest in acquiring new skills
-Ability to optimize database designs and associated queries
-Adept at thinking big picture, analyzing down-stream impacts to options, while also having the ability to prioritize and ensure completion of time-sensitive tasks
-Ability to direct and mentor the efforts of other developers
-Effective communicator, both oral and written
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
-Working knowledge of Netsuite CRM/ERP package
-Produce industry experience
-Experience with caching and higher volume implementations
-Experience with setup and configuration of AWS such as EC2, RDS, SES
-Experience in a technical leadership role, such as Dev Manager
-Previous experience on Agile teams using Atlassian JIRA, Greenhopper and Elastic Bamboo
-Linux system admin knowledge
-PHP development experience
-Mobile development experience
This is a new regular, full-time exempt position. This position will work primarily out the Full Circle Corporate Office in SODO. If you feel you possess the desired skills, are a hard worker and passionate about the organic food industry, we’d love to hear from you.
Compensation
Salary range is up to $100,000 per year DOE + benefits.
